Definition of 'Grind' highlighting consistent effort and crushing work.

You Are (Probably) Being Outworked

Right now, someone is grinding harder than you, to take what you want. Skating and stick handling, alone, in some cold barn. Or, pounding weights in some sweaty gym in a cellar. Maybe on some farm throwing haybails all day. While the other 90% spend their time watching videos on social media. There are a few million hockey players, worldwide, and to expect that you are outworking them all would be short-sighted.

For perspective, 160 players from the CHL, 115 from the USHL, 66 from BCHL / NAHL committed to play NCAA Division1 hockey in 2025/26. That is nearly 50% (341) of the total 727 players committed to play NCAA Division1 for 2025/26. Realistically, these are among the top 1% of players in the world. These numbers do not account for the remaining USHL, CHL, NAHL, NCDC, European uncommitted players. And, with recent NCAA eligibility decisions, the margin of acceptance is expected to get thinner. If you are 18+ and not already in these leagues, your window is closing, rapidly.

A lot of players are jealous in what these committed players have, but they aren’t jealous of what it took to get there. There is no giftedness…there is only grind. No social media platform is going to be the decision maker in your commitments. We can help lighten some of the load.
