Don’t Put Out Someone Elses Candle…

Hockey players, on the median, are typically competitive. The more elite the player/team, the more competitive it usually is. Inevitably, someone just can’t keep up. Maybe they can’t quite compete at the level, or maybe the totality of responsibilities (chores, school, hockey, etc) puts strain on a player.

We have noticed a trend, which is disturbing, in nature. It involves people who, for whatever reason, make a decision to try to pull someone else down. This comes in a variety of ways. Usually, it’s just negative talk about a player, in private conversations. But, in this reference, we are seeing a more public attempt at attacking players. And, it often anonymously posted and guised as the player that they are actually trying to hurt.

This attached video was pulled from social media. It is, seemingly, of a productive player. But, the post makes a negative comment about the productivity of the Team, in relation to the player highlighted. While it is possible that players can become frustrated with their teams, it is rare that they would publicly demean the organization. Potentially, this instance is someone who is trying to damage the reputation of another player. This is supported by several reasons;

~ The profile who posted this clip is not a valid profile.
~ A player publicly bragging about themselves in comparison to their organization is rare.
~ No EP information was provided (to help validate the player)
~ There is strong unlikelihood of someone publicly attaching their organization.

The post has been removed (https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1886655612242349&id=1027564708151448) from the page. But, players, social media admins, coaches, parents, be aware of the possibility in this type of activity.
