Changing (Your) Reality
The mind is a very powerful tool. It controls our mood, our perceptions, our thoughts. These ultimately can affect output, performance, relationships…happiness. So, who is in control, exactly? How many times have you caught your mind wandering, during a dull lecture? Or, your anger took control, when you should have been calm? We often act as though our minds act independently of our bodies. But, we know the truth is that we sometimes lack self-control, focus, empathy.
If we want better outputs, across the spectrum in our lives, we have to change thoughts & habits. Some things we can change, immediately…like dropping a bad habit. But, most mindfulness changes happen gradually. Through repeated success and discipline, we develop new neuropathways (synapse) which can create a purposeful manner of thought. It’s a little like holding onto the puck, just a little longer. You might not achieve your end-goal, this time. But, you will likely create a neuropathway that helps you be more confident in holding the puck to this point. And, through systematic progression, you gradually learn to hold the puck longer…and longer…until you are in a better position to achieve your ultimate goal.
Wouldn’t you like to “just do itâ€? Not just a slogan…but actually do things, without thinking about it? Stop living in the idea that “perception is realityâ€. Make your perception reality by changing your thoughts, which ultimately can change your actions.
