Intake For Output
This is so important. Many in the younger generations have been inundated with sugar (under many names) that they fail to intake the necessary nutritional needs, as an athlete. That quick bite of chicken tenders, between games could exceed your carbohydrate (sugar) needs for an entire day. A minimum of 1g of protein per body pound per day is necessary, as an athlete…to maintain. To excel or grow, the numbers are much higher. And, caloric usage for hockey players is exceptionally high, in games/practices. At the rate hockey players burn body mass, the ability to build muscle is often challenging. Choosing your food & supplementation sources can be just as important as intake volumes. If you’re not sure, ask us, or consider consulting a nutritionist.
