Showcases want your money … PreDrafts want your money … Advisory services want your money … Teams want your money … everyone seems to want your money. Seems like they might believe they want it more than you.

Honestly, most of the costs are legitimate. If nothing else, these fees help pay for the upcoming season, even if you are not a part of that season. But, coaches, scouts, team representatives want to get you in front of comparable competition. It’s too unreliable to try to assess someone solely on video. So, paying to go to some of these events might be the only way to get in front of them. Especially if you live in a non-traditional market for #hockey. But, knowing where to go and with whom to speak can be a maze.
